Free is the model, not the trial

Purja is not a narrow plan or a temporary offer. The invoices, khata, stock, expenses, tax books, reports, imports and year-end close are free for every shop.

What free includes

There is no card, expiry date, invoice limit or paid stock module. A shop can issue bills, record purchases and expenses, keep customer and supplier khata, receive part payments, track stock by store, print tax invoices, keep the IRD books and export its data.

So how does the company make money?

Not from your books. Billing, accounting and inventory are basic business infrastructure. A shop should not have to keep paying just to issue bills and keep its own records, so Purja makes that foundation free.

Lamp Solutions earns from Purja AI, the optional paid assistant that takes repetitive work off an owner's hands: it reads a sentence, a photographed bill or a voice note and answers questions about the books in words. It is separate from Purja. A shop never needs it to issue bills, track stock, keep khata or close the year, and every shop gets 100 free AI readings, 20 photographs and 30 voice minutes a month whether it pays or not. Purja remains a complete standalone product, and every accounting feature available today stays free.

That business model does not depend on advertising, selling your data, or passing your sales figures to banks or lenders.

What should make you cautious

Free software still has to earn trust. Check who runs it, where the company is registered, whether the product shows its real behaviour, how your data exports, and whether the claims about tax compliance are precise. Purja publishes its company registration and PAN, shows the working product, and says clearly that its IRD application is pending.

The promise: every current Purja feature remains free. Your data exports in full whenever you ask.
